Getting started with Details AI

Details AI is the assistant built into details. You ask a question about your own data in plain words, and it looks up the answer for you. It can also work through unmatched sales lines with you and make the same change on many records at once.

In short: Click ai in the bottom right corner of any screen, type your question and press Enter. Details AI answers with numbers, names or a table, and you can ask follow-up questions.

► Overview

Details AI saves you the detour through reports and spreadsheets when you need one number or one list. Ask it the way you would ask a colleague. It works in English, French, German and Spanish, and you can switch language mid-conversation.

You can use it for three kinds of work:

  • Questions about your data, for example open invoices, releases per year or royalty statements for a period.
  • Matching sales import errors on digital and physical statements.
  • Bulk changes, such as adding a list of costs to a release or correcting a misspelled artist name on all its records.

► Where to Find This

Click the ai button in the bottom right corner. The assistant opens in a panel next to the screen you are working on, so it knows which record you have open.

► How It Works

Details AI only sees the data your user account is allowed to see. Nothing leaves your details account.

Answers come back as text or as a table. Rows in a table link straight to the record, so one click takes you from the answer to the release, invoice or booking itself. Follow-up questions such as “and last year?” refer to your previous question, so you don’t have to start over.

Sometimes it mentions things you did not ask for, for example an invoice that was paid twice or a track with an ISRC of the wrong length.

When it is not sure, it tells you. That is intended.

► Step-by-Step

  1. Click ai in the bottom right corner.
  2. Type your question, for example “How many releases did we put out last year?”
  3. Read the answer. Click a row to open the record.
  4. Ask a follow-up question, or start a new topic.

A few questions to try:

  • “Which contacts have no email address?”
  • “Give me a report of all due and overdue invoices.”
  • “Which venue do we use the most?”
  • “Do we have any tracks with an ISRC that isn’t 12 characters long?”

► Tips / Notes

  • Details AI is very good at looking things up. When you ask it to create or change something, check the result before you move on.
  • Matching sales import errors has its own guide: Matching sales import errors with Details AI.
  • To add or change many records at once, see Bulk changes with Details AI.
  • Tell us what you asked and how it went. That is how Details AI gets better.
